Sloan launches Solar Powered Concealed Flushometers!

Sloan has introduced concealed models of its acclaimed SOLIS ® solarpowered, sensor-activated flush valves. The concealed models now enable restrooms in highuse/high-abuse facilities such as schools, stadiums and transportation centers to adopt this water and energy-efficient plumbing technology.

The concealed SOLIS flushometers for water closets and urinals install behind the wall for secure operation in vandal-prone restrooms. The active infrared sensor and back-up battery compartment are located in a wall box with a stainless-steel access panel and vandal-resistant screws.

True Mechanical Override functionality ensures that the flushometers operate even if the batteries fail. Users simply push a button on the wall plate to flush.  These new concealed SOLIS flushometers use natural or artificial light to charge a highly efficient capacitor, providing power even in rooms with occupancy-controlled lighting.

SOLIS uses a combination of solar energy and batteries to power the sensor flushing.  Batteries are only used for back-up power due to the heavy reliance on energy-efficient solar  energy, which effectively doubles battery life from three to six years. Because SOLIS is powered by solar energy and batteries, no hardwiring is required, making it ideal for any concealed application.

Concealed SOLIS flushometers for wall-hung water closets flush at either 1.28 gpf/4.8 Lpf or 1.6 gpf/6.0 gpf. The urinal flushometers, available in 0.5 gpf/1.9 Lpf and 1.0 gpf/3.8 Lpf models, can use automated logic to reduce water usage in high-use applications, such as when a continuous line of users forms.

These new concealed flush valves are part of the SOLIS Collection, which also includes exposed models of SOLIS water closet and urinal flush valves, retrofit flushometers for converting existing valves to solar-powered operation, and low-flow deck-mount faucets. Sloan is the first company to offer a complete line of solar-powered, water-efficient plumbing products.

Sloan is the world’s leading manufacturer of water-efficient plumbing systems and has been in operation since 1906. Headquartered in Franklin Park, Illinois, the company manufactures plumbing products for commercial, industrial and institutional markets worldwide.
